I stumbled upon M'Finda Kalunga Garden yesterday while passing through. I was extremely excited when I saw that it was open. I can almost never turn down a floral shop, a nursery or a garden when I pass by it. I love these spaces in the city that make you feel like you're not in the city at all. This stretch of garden was very serene and lush, tucked away in Sara D. Roosevelt park.
There weren't a ton of flowers out... I think it's between the growing season where things are growing but not quite at the stage of flowering. I hope the next time I pass by I'll be lucky enough to see it in all its glory!
Hi Jay, I'm wondering if you would give me photo permission to include one of your photos in an article I'm writing that mentions the M'Finda Kalunga garden. I work for a social justice organization and we wanted to highlight the garden as an example of positive community engagement. We would just need to know how to credit you - your full name and the date the photo was taken. Thank you for your consideration. -Sara Reisman sreisman@sdrubin.org
