Ranunculus baby

RANUNCULUS !!!!

I've been waiting months for this.

My first ranunculus baby. It's yellow!

I got a whole assortment, very excited for what other colors are gonna pop up where.

Some jerk animal keeps eating away at the ranunculus leaves and I don't know why but I think they've figured out that the leaves aren't edible.

Air plants

A new addition to my home.

Air plants from Chelsea Market's Kingdom of Herbs.

I saw that they were about to flower and I picked a couple up.

One has 7 flowers on them and the other has 4. 

One plant flowers once in their lives and then produce pups then the life cycle continues.

You can choose to remove pups or keep as is for a fuller look. 

I'm very excited for these to flower... they supposedly last a few days to a few months.

We'll see!! 

I believe this type is called aeranthos. :) 

Sara D. Roosevelt Park // M’Finda Kalunga Garden

I stumbled upon M'Finda Kalunga Garden yesterday while passing through. I was extremely excited when I saw that it was open. I can almost never turn down a floral shop, a nursery or a garden when I pass by it. I love these spaces in the city that make you feel like you're not in the city at all.  This stretch of garden was very serene and lush, tucked away in Sara D. Roosevelt park.

There weren't a ton of flowers out... I think it's between the growing season where things are growing but not quite at the stage of flowering. I hope the next time I pass by I'll be lucky enough to see it in all its glory!

Waiting game

I've been tending to my garden, repotting things and just waiting for them to flower.
I want fresh flowers around the house at all times :)
